Expanding Patient Care with Point-of-Care Testing and Test-to-Treat Services
Pharmacies are well-positioned to provide convenient healthcare through point-of-care testing (POCT) and test-to-treat services. Workflow Services’ test-to-treat workflow makes it simple to record encounter details and submit claims, so pharmacies are set up for success. Once tests are ordered, the main task is getting the word out to patients that these services are available.
How to Spread the Word
- Bag stuffers or brochures – Hand them out during vaccine appointments. With vaccine season bringing high foot traffic, it’s the perfect chance to reach patients and let them know that if they get sick, testing and treatment can be just as easy as getting their shot.
- Partner with school nurses – A great way to build community awareness and reach families likely to need these services.
- Use our marketing kit – Download here. Display printable materials in high-traffic areas of your pharmacy to make patients aware of testing and treatment availability.
- Engage your staff – Make sure the whole team is aware, confident, and excited to share this new service with patients.
Highlight Patient Savings
- If your pharmacy can bill insurance, clearly list the health plans you accept.
- If not, emphasize that pharmacy testing often costs less than urgent care copays—and nearly always saves patients time.
By combining Workflow Services, marketing outreach, and the natural momentum of vaccine season, your pharmacy can position itself as a trusted destination for testing and treatment—strengthening patient relationships while creating new revenue opportunities.
Vaccine Administration Workflow Updates
If it’s been a while since you last reviewed the Workflow Services vaccine administration workflow, now is the perfect time. Several updates have been made since last season to improve efficiency and support pharmacies during the busy months ahead. These changes include enhancements to documentation, encounter tracking, and patient communication tools.

Using WFS Vaccine Self-Registration at Offsite Clinics
Running an offsite vaccine clinic is easier and more efficient with WFS workflows. With the workflows you can ditch the paper and capture patient consent, allow patients to register in advance, and record vaccine administration. Read more about using our platform at vaccine clinics here.
