📠 New Feature: Automatically Fax Encounter Reports to Primary Care Providers
Communication and care coordination between pharmacists and primary care providers is an important part of delivering high-quality patient care. That's why we're excited to introduce a new feature that allows encounter reports to be automatically faxed to a patient's Primary Care Provider (PCP).
Organizations can now opt into the PCP faxing service and configure which report types should be automatically shared through the Admin Settings section of the platform. This flexibility allows each organization to determine which clinical services and encounter types should be communicated to providers.
For some pharmacies, this feature serves as a convenient way to strengthen collaboration and keep providers informed of patient care activities. For others, particularly those operating under Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPAs) or state-specific requirements, sharing visit notes with a patient's PCP may be required as part of the service being provided.
☎️ CRC Program Update: Adherence Calling Is Now Built Into the Portal
For pharmacies participating in our Colorectal Cancer Screening Program, we've made adherence outreach even easier. You'll now see a new Adherence option in the web portal menu.
From this page, you can:
- See a breakdown of the number of calls available for each call type
- Launch the Adherence Tracker directly from the portal
- Begin making calls immediately
The best part? There is no longer a need to use a separate URL. Everything is now accessible directly from the Workflow Services portal, making adherence outreach faster and more convenient for your team.
💰 Claims Update: New "Expiring" Status
The Claims tab remains the best place to monitor the status of claims created through Workflow Services.
One status you'll see is In Collection, which indicates there is an outstanding patient balance associated with the claim. We encourage pharmacies to follow up with patients whenever appropriate and update the claim status once collection efforts have been completed.
Remember, there are several ways to close a claim beyond collecting payment directly through Workflow Services. For example, if payment was collected through your pharmacy's POS system, you can indicate that within the claim and close it appropriately.
Keeping claim statuses up to date helps ensure your records remain accurate.
Introducing the New Expiring Status
To help improve claim management, claims that remain in In Collection for 90 days will now move into a new Expiring status.
Claims will remain in Expiring status for 7 days, providing one final opportunity for your team to review the claim and take any necessary action.
After those 7 days, the claim will automatically be marked as Paid and the associated Workflow Services service fee will be invoiced to the pharmacy.
We're also introducing weekly medical billing summary email notifications. These reminders will help ensure the appropriate team members are aware of aging claims and can review them before any automatic action occurs.
A few minutes spent reviewing these notifications can help ensure your claims are closed accurately and reflect the true outcome of your collection efforts.
🩺 Build Almost Any Clinical Service with Clinical Visit Templates (CVTs)
Did you know that nearly any clinical workflow can be digitized using Workflow Services?
Our Clinical Visit Template (CVT) functionality gives pharmacies the flexibility to create customized digital workflows for virtually any patient care service, including both medically billed and cash pay services.
Over the past year, pharmacies have used CVTs to support services such as:
- Cold sore treatment
- Urinary tract infection (UTI) care
- Lyme disease evaluations
- Travel health consultations
- Preventive screenings
- Medication management services
- And many more
We've continued to listen to customers’ needs for new CVT enhancements, making templates easier to build, more customizable, and more powerful than ever before.
If you've been considering adding a new clinical service or digitizing an existing workflow, now is a great time to explore what CVTs can do.
