🆕 Prepare Your Pharmacy for Deductibles Resetting in January
As January approaches, pharmacies should proactively prepare for the annual reset of patient deductibles. This change affects both in-network and out-of-network billing, and pharmacies may see an increase in patient financial responsibility for services provided. Pharmacies will not know what the patient is responsible for until after a claim adjudicates. Patients should call their insurance provider to learn more about their deductible and how it impacts their cost for services.
Now is the ideal time to emphasize with staff the importance of discussing potential out-of-pocket costs and deciding if cash pay may be a better option with patients before services are rendered. Clear communication helps prevent confusion and ensures a smoother patient experience during a time when higher-than-expected costs are common.
We strongly recommend establishing a policy to collect credit card information from all patients at the point of service. This allows the Workflow Services team to process payments seamlessly once claims finalize, reducing follow-up work and minimizing unpaid balances.
Consistent messaging from your staff and a standardized process will help your pharmacy navigate this seasonal transition effectively while maintaining patient trust.
New!! Adherence Calling Platform for CRC Customers
CRC program participants can now take advantage of our adherence calling platform. This platform was designed to streamline patient outreach and activity tracking for your screened and eligible and ordered but not resulted patients.
The platform guides callers, step-by-step, through each patient interaction and includes scripts, talking points, and FAQs to support efficient, confident communication with eligible patients and allows you to track the outcome directly in the tracker.

Digitizing Clinical Services With the Clinical Visit Tool (CVT)
As pharmacies continue expanding their clinical services, many still rely on paper-based processes to collect patient information—whether for screenings, assessments, consent forms, or recurring questionnaires. While familiar, paper systems create challenges: they are difficult to store, easy to misplace, time-consuming to review, and could lead to inconsistencies in patient care.
Our Clinical Visit Tool (CVT) offers a streamlined, fully digital alternative for any service your pharmacy records on paper. The CVT works well for cash services and services you bill to insurance. If you routinely hand patients printed surveys or have staff fill out paper forms during visits, those same workflows can be digitized and customized within the CVT.
Digitizing these processes benefits your pharmacy in several important ways:
- Improved Patient Experience: Patients can complete surveys directly on their mobile device or on a pharmacy tablet, creating a faster and more convenient visit.
- Accurate, Legible Records: Digital entries eliminate handwriting issues and reduce the risk of transcription errors.
- Automated claims creation and submission: Reduces manual entry, minimizes errors, and helps your pharmacy capture all reimbursable revenue with significantly less staff effort.
- Centralized Electronic Storage: All completed forms are automatically stored in the patient’s record—no more filing cabinets or scanning paperwork after the visit, reduction in paper and ink costs.
- Consistency Across Staff: Standardized digital forms ensure that the same questions are asked and the same information is captured every time.
- Better Reporting and Auditing: Electronic records make it easier to pull historical data, review clinical activity, and prepare for audits or program evaluations.
We encourage all pharmacy partners to review their current clinical services and identify any repetitive, paper-based workflows that could be simplified through digitization. If your team is handing out paper, there is a strong chance the CVT can replace it—and improve the experience for both patients and staff.
