Workflow Services provides clients the ability to integrate InfoWifi-enabled BD Veritor devices into our database. This Feature Guide will cover the basics of connecting a Veritor device to the Workflow Services platform.
Follow the instructions provided in the BD VeritorTM InfoWiFi networking instructions (IFU) document included with the Veritor InfoWifi enabled device to install and configure the InfoWifi module. Testing barcodes are provided in this document as well. Instructions are paraphrased below:
To set up the Veritor testing device:
-
Turn on the Veritor device
-
When prompted to scan a config barcode, scan the NET-CONF barcode in the Configure BD VeritorTM InfoWiFi section in the IFU document. This will put the device in configuration mode to set up the wireless network.
-
From a computer, connect to the BDInfoWifixxxxxx network. The password for the network is the entire serial number found on the bottom of the Veritor device.
-
On the screen of the Veritor device, you will see the IP address of the device. Enter the IP address in the search bar of your browser to open the configuration page.
-
On the page that pops up, select ‘Use On Premise Synapsys Server’ and configure the server to be the appropriate URL to which results should be sent from the Veritor device. ImageMover Customer Success will provide you with this URL. It will be something like:
bd-outreach-1.iworkflowservices.com or outreach-bd-ca-1.workflowservices.com -
Enter wifi network credentials which the device can use (for example, the wifi network that your computer is normally connected to) and select ‘Connect’.
-
Reconnect the computer to the local wifi network. The Veritor device is now configured and connected to the internet.
-
You will also need to set up the Veritor device to scan a Specimen ID. These instructions can also be found in your BD Veritor Training Manual under the Configuration Barcodes section.
-
Power your device off and on again. Scan the Enable Specimen ID barcode under the Set Specimen ID header.
-
The device should now send results to the server that was configured. A Workflow Services staff member can assist by checking logs to ensure the connection is working.
-
Follow the testing instructions included with the device. When a final result is displayed, the result will also be sent in a background process through the wifi connection. You may see an Envelope icon at the top of the result screen, which indicates the result message is sending. The payload will still be sent if you begin a new test or otherwise navigate away from the result screen.
